Q. Do You recommend I visit the salon while I stll have hair?
Yes. It is easier to get the hair matched if I see it before your hair loss, so I can match the style as well as I can.
Q. do you need to make an appointment to visit the salon?
To offer the 1st class service that we do, we recommend you make an appointment so you can have Michael's undivided attention. If however you wish to just "drop in" we will try to accommodate you as best we can but please bear in mind you may have to wait until we have an available slot.
q. I hate the idea of wearing a wig and I am not looking forward to purchasing one. How can I overcome this fear?
You are not alone in feeling this way! I think the easiest way of overcoming this fear is to see me as your hairdresser for the next six months to a year and your just visiting a Hair Dressing Salon. I will be your hairdresser; making sure you walk out of the salon looking and feeling the best you can about your new hair! If you don't like the term wig, why don't you use my preferred term: "Hat with Hair".
Q. How much do wigs cost?
We strive to cater for all budgets, whilst never compromising on Quality. At the salon we buy wigs from companies all over the world and only get the best quality Synthetic / Human Hair and Cap Construction wigs for my customers to purchase.
q. Are Human hair wigs really better than synthetic?
Not necessarily, no. The standard in synthetic wigs is so high now I would would find it hard to tell the difference myself! The beauty of synthetic hair is that it always bounces back into its original shape, so you never have to style or worry about the style dropping out ever again. Synthetic hair wigs are also usually lighter to wear than human hair wigs. I only recommend human hair wigs for those specific customers who have the time and patience to style the wig on a daily basis.
Q. How do I look after my wig?
You can purchase an Aftercare Kit from the salon. To buy all the products individually would be £75 but I have put together the whole kit for a discounted £60 which includes, Shampoo, Conditioner, Hairspray, Fibre Oil, a Wig Brush, and a polystyrene head. This usually lasts you for your treatment wig wearing period. You will also be given an instruction sheet on how to wash the wig.
Q. How do I wash my new "hat with hair"?
If you wear the wig everyday, we recommend you wash it every two weeks. You wash the wig by filling the sink with cold water (enough to cover the wig), add the shampoo and foam it up, gently swish the wig side by side ( like a cashmere jumper ), then rinse the shampoo out. Repeat the process with the Conditioner allowing it to soak for around 10 minutes. Then gently shake the excess water out and pop it onto the shower head to drip dry over night. Once dry in the morning put it onto your Polly Head (so that it retains its shape) and then apply a spray of Fibre Oil conditioner, which will help it retain its shine and shape. Then its ready to wear!
REMEMBER! Never brush the wig when it is wet and DON'T use any heat on it! TIP 1: Stand away form the oven door if your cooking whilst wearing your Hat with hair otherwise it may singe the wig! TIP 2: Never put the wig onto the polly head whilst wet!
